Caroline Dew is an associate attorney at The Schafer Law Office, where she represents individuals throughout Kentucky and Indiana. Caroline is dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered representation while aggressively advocating for the justice her clients deserve. She believes every client deserves not only skilled legal representation, but also clear communication, honesty, and an attorney who is personally invested in the outcome of their case.

Caroline’s practice focuses on personal injury litigation, including automobile and trucking accidents, premises liability, dog bite claims, wrongful death, and other negligence matters. She also has a particular interest in representing survivors of sexual assault and workplace sexual harassment, helping clients navigate some of the most difficult experiences of their lives with dignity and respect.

Caroline earned her Bachelor of Arts in History, with a minor in German, from the University of Louisville before graduating cum laude from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in May 2025. During law school, she served as a law clerk at The Schafer Law Office, gaining hands-on litigation experience that helped her transition into her role as an associate attorney. She was admitted to practice law in Kentucky in November 2025 and Indiana in June 2026.

While at Brandeis, Caroline was actively involved in the Student Bar Association, Honor Council, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the Disability & Accessibility Alliance, and the Health Law Society. She developed a strong foundation in legal research, persuasive writing, and advocacy skills that she now applies every day on behalf of her clients.

Caroline enjoys the strategic nature of litigation and believes that thorough preparation is the foundation of successful advocacy. In May 2026, she second-chaired her first jury trial alongside founding attorney Mike Schafer, helping secure a verdict for the firm’s client. She also co-authored The Definitive History and Unclear Future of Automated Vehicles, published in the Kentucky Justice Association’s The Advocate.

Outside the office, Caroline enjoys crocheting, studying history, exploring true crime, spending time with her cats, and continuing to improve her German language skills.

Experience

Caroline’s practice is devoted representing injured plaintiffs. She has experience handling all phases of litigation, including legal research, drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, written discovery, depositions, trial preparation, settlement negotiations, and courtroom advocacy – she also has experience in prelitigation demand writing and negotiations. She approaches every case with careful attention to detail and a commitment to obtaining the best possible result for each client.
